As a student are your valuables protected?

Students may be poor, but they often own a lot of expensive items, from laptops, iPods and mobile phones to TVs and cameras - often with a total value of more than £2,000. But they stay in temporary accommodation where security is often lax and live a typical student lifestyle.

Is Mobile Phone Insurance Necessary?

The rise in mobile phones has led, inevitably, to an increase in fraud, thefts of handsets and countless numbers getting lost or damaged. Over 2m mobiles are stolen each year in the UK alone, and over 4m are lost or damaged, so there is a real chance that something could happen to your phone. If you don't have insurance and you're on a monthly contract, you'll have to keep paying the line rental for the remainder of the contract or replace the phone yourself which could mean a large bill.

PPI – a good time to buy?

Insurance - Explaining the Basics

Buying insurance is probably not something that is always at the front of your mind. The' It won't happen to me 'approach is also not uncommon, but ask someone who it has happened to and you will find a different take on the need for insurance!

By ensuring you are adequately insured makes it easier to deal with any unfortunate events that materialise. Even if they don't you will have benefited from peace of mind that can be worth the price alone. Read more »
